Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN) is now STRIDE Community Health Center

ENGLEWOOD – Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN) announced today that effective April 1st, it will undergo an organizational name change to STRIDE Community Health Center.

For 30 years, the Community Health Center has provided comprehensive, quality, and affordable health care to underserved, uninsured, and working individuals and families in the Denver metropolitan area.

“We chose the name STRIDE because we believe in establishing a deep connection with our patients as equal partners, and to journey with them toward better health,” said Ben Wiederholt, President and Chief Executive Officer of STRIDE Community Health Center. “We believe that the dignity of every human being means that everyone has an equal right to quality healthcare, and that our new name better reflects our organizational mission.”

Over the past three decades, STRIDE Community Health Center has built strong relationships with many healthcare professionals, individuals, and partner organizations. Now, with more than 50,000 patients and 18 locations, it is one of the largest, most expansive Community Health Centers in Colorado. Patients span five counties, 115 ZIP codes, and speak more than 100 different languages. STRIDE serves families, children, pregnant women, immigrants and refugees, individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, people with HIV/AIDS, and people with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes and obesity.

As a Community Health Center, STRIDE addresses the need for affordable and accessible medical, behavioral health, and dental care outside the city and county of Denver. In 2018, 3 out of every 4 STRIDE patients identified at 150% or below the federal poverty level.

“The organizational transformation underway has introduced a new level of passion and commitment for our mission, unlike anything we have seen in our history,” said Wiederholt. “Although our name has changed, STRIDE Community Health Center will remain focused on fostering complete patient wellness, supporting people of all backgrounds and conditions. We are thankful to have our employees, patients, community partners and donors on this voyage, and we look forward to all that is ahead for STRIDE!”
